Kristen Pillitteri, a senior at Northeastern University, has done some pretty incredible things in just one week! We’re excited for week 2 as well!
One of my favorite travel quotes goes as so, “I’m in love with cities I’ve never been to and people I’ve never met”. All I can say is Go Global has shown me this can be a reality since it has 100% happened in Cape Town. Seeing the world has always been a passion of mine while meeting new people just adds to the journey. I know I have just scratched the surface to the places and adventures I’ve seen and done here but it has showed me so much excitement when you do it with the right people. I was not only showered with wishes on my 22nd birthday on Friday (May 15th) but just to name a few, I conquered the hike of Table Mountain (a seven wonder of nature), went into Franschouk winelands for a vineyard tour where I learned to blend my own wine (I love wine), ventured to Cape Point (to what pretty much feels like standing on the tip of the world), then had the time of my life learning to surf in the beautiful town of Muizenberg (I STOOD UP! WOO!). All days I will never forget. Go Global has not only given me the opportunity of a lifetime with a group of people that I feel so fortunate to have met but has also shared Cape Town with me through their special program. I’m incredibly grateful for the new best friends and world I’ve been exposed to. I can’t wait for the continued service and leadership experience in week two! ☺
