Listen up, fashionistas. Coming up with a packing list is important…but how do you know what to pack if you don’t know what to wear?! With the help of the Go Global Community Leaders putting our brains together, there will be a complete packing list published for y’all on the blog at the end of the month. But until then, each week this month you can be on the look out for a post highlighting what to wear on each of our fabulous trips — taking weather, activities, and of course, fashion, into consideration! Greece, you’re up first! Our very own Haley Montgomery, Community Leader and student at Kennesaw State University, has your fashion guide ready for you based on her experience with LEAD Greece. Must-Have Item #1: Bathing Suit
You wanna know something great about the Grecians? Every body is beautiful no matter what shape or size you are. No judgments. Just good times, good drinks, and a whole lot of laughter. Feel comfortable in your own skin and rock that cheeky bikini you’ve been dying to wear! Make sure to stop in Fira at the boutique “Spicy” with all the cover-ups you’ll need when cruising around the Aegean.

Must-Have Item #2: Your Daily Outfit
We all know American college girls love their t-shirts and Nike shorts, but Grecians pride themselves on their appearances in public. To blend in a little more with the crowd, we tried to dress it up a little bit when touring around the city. It can get pretty hot climbing hundreds of stairs in the heat to see all the beauties Greece has to offer, so it’s a good idea to wear a lightweight sheer shirt or a tank top. Any comfy-cute shorts are appropriate from high-waisted jean shorts to linen shorts. Supportive shoes are a must with all the walking you do, so shoes like Chacos or Converses are your best bet!

Must-Have Item #3: A Dress for a Night on the Town
Nightlife in Greece is quite the event! Dinner usually doesn’t begin until 10 or 11 pm, so I’m sure you can imagine what time it is when you go out to the clubs. Dress to impress, my friends! The Grecian gods and goddesses will be bringing their ‘A’ game no matter what day of the week it is, so put on some lipstick and your favorite heels and go out on the town for some of the most outrageous nights of your life! (Make sure those heels are comfy though, you will be dancing your heart out). Anything from maxis to rompers, sundresses to crop tops will catch everyone’s eye in the clubs. Show a little skin, flaunt your beauty, and just have fun with it! YAMAS!

Shoutout to Haley for putting this lovely guide together for you guys. We hope that you feel that you are dressed comfortably, appropriately, and with flare! Knowing what to fill your suitcase with and what to put on in the morning will be your first step into taking in all of the Grecian beauty within which you will submerge yourself. Haley, a Marketing major, comments that her favorite thing about the beauty in Greece is that “wealth in Greece is not about money and material items but about spreading the love. People genuinely care for others and spend their time truly enjoying the company of others with no distractions from things like cell phones or social media. You learn to look up and enjoy the beautiful things in life that so many people take for granted.”
And a little bonus…here is one of our Interns, Bonnie, dressed in white ready for a gorgeous evening!
If you have any questions about what to wear in Greece, Haley is here to help you out! Feel free to contact Haley, Bonnie, or any of our staff members at any time. Cape Town and Rome — you’re up next! This is one of the exciting parts of preparing for your trip! Get in the spirit! Happy Shopping!
